You may feel that your misaligned teeth make you too self-conscious to want to smile, but we can change that for you. We do more than examine your teeth; we get to know you, the patient behind the teeth. Your teeth become misaligned for several reasons. You may have inherited your dental profile from a member of your family. You may have sucked your thumb hard as a child for many years or sucked on a dummy or a teat bottle for a long time. Whatever the reason is, at Ashlow Orthodontics, you will find a team with all the orthodontic credentials and more to help you find your smile. As we are a modern dental practice, our orthodontist Stoke-on-Trent has helped many patients confidently face the challenges of the twenty-first century with a broad self-assured smile.
Invite us in!
Our team has a very patient-centric approach to how we deliver our services. Your personal well-being is our main priority, and your aspirations are our guide. We spend time getting to know who you are and understand what you would like to achieve. Discussion and conversation allow us to see the bigger picture and exactly what you expect from us. We are candid and will explain to you exactly how we can meet your expectations. It is important that you invite us in to meet who you really are so that we can create a treatment plan that suits you.
The technological revolution
The way that technology has raced forward has opened up a whole world of oral treatment possibilities. Almost anything is possible, and with our team’s training, skills and broad range of qualifications, we are confident that our orthodontist Stoke-on-Trent can deliver. As a practice and because our focus is on you as an individual, we can assess the best treatment suitable to produce the results that you want. Over the past few decades, dentistry has created more than one type of dental misalignment straightening appliance.
Braces and aligners
Our orthodontist Stoke-on-Trent does not focus on one dental appliance to treat your dental misalignment. It may be necessary in some cases to use more than one type of appliance because treatment is designed around you. Braces have been around for a long time, but the variety has grown and been improved upon. There are braces that can fit onto the front of your teeth in the conventional way but which self-adjust; this reduces the number of visits necessary. There are braces which fit onto the inside of your teeth so that they are virtually invisible. Some braces are coloured the same as natural teeth or are clear, making them less obvious. If you don’t mind letting people know that you have braces, you can choose a coloured one. These all work by using blocks, wires and bands to slowly align your teeth. In the late 1990s, a new type of dental appliance was created that can fit over teeth; this does not use blocks, wires and bands but resembles a gum shield made of a clear thermoplastic. Based on your misalignment condition, a series of these aligners can be computer generated with our help. Each aligner has a slightly different orientation designed to gradually move teeth into alignment.
Careful planning, precise delivery
The latest 3D scanners and digital X-ray equipment allow us to creatively deliver the smile that you want. We can show you a virtual image of the result of your treatment beforehand so that you can see what can be achieved. At Ashlow Orthodontics, you will meet a team that understands their science, embraces their artistic talent and releases their passion for the profession they love. All of this is in pursuit of revealing your smile, both internal and external!
