How does it work?

Invisalign straightens your teeth using removable, plastic aligners that are custom-made to fit your teeth. You will receive multiple aligners to change from the comfort of your own home, and it requires minimal Stoke-on-Trent orthodontist appointments with us which is great if you have a busy schedule.

Firstly, as with any dental appointment, you will have a consultation appointment with our Stoke-on-Trent orthodontist so we can discuss the treatment with you and take some scans. We will answer any questions you may have about Invisalign, and talk in-depth about the process. After this, we will take scans of your teeth and jaw to get a better look and to determine if you are eligible. Once you have had your consultation meeting and if you decide to go ahead with the treatment, we will send off your scans so that your custom-made aligners can be created. We will then send them to you, and you will change through the different aligners every 2-3 weeks. The total treatment time for Invisalign varies from 6-18 months, depending on your specific needs.

When it comes to looking after your teeth and aligners throughout the process, it is very simple. To clean your aligners, it is recommended that you brush them with your toothbrush and rinse them off with water. When you eat, you can simply remove your aligners, eat whatever you want, brush your teeth, quickly rinse off the aligner and pop it straight back in!

Once you have completed the treatment, and are enjoying your straighter smile, your Stoke-on-Trent orthodontist will highly recommend that you use a retainer to ensure that your teeth don’t revert back to their original position. This is recommended with any teeth straightening treatment, and is effective in maintaining the straightness of your new smile.
